What is the basic pressure drop equation for natural gas?

Steady state, isothermal, compressible flow.

For friction factor use either the Modified Colebrook-White equation or the AGA equations. You can use the various Panhandle equations if you check to be sure you are in the applicable Reynolds number range.

See "Pipeline Design for Hydrocarbon Gases and Liquids" published by ASCE circa 1975 for a summary.
 
For natural gas above 100 psig use Weymouth Equation; below 100 psig, use Oliphant Equation. Many crosscountry transmission companies use Panhandle A or B, or some others.
