Hello All,

Can Suction pressure be higher than the discharge pressure? I think this is not possible but cannot understand.
The equipment is Hydraulic Turbine and the pressure i am getting in the drawing is as below
Suction Pressure : 30 bar
Discharge pressure: 12 bar

You describe this as a hydraulic turbine. By definition, it would normally have a higher inlet pressure and a lower outlet pressure. The terms "suction" and "discharge" would be somewhat misleading for this machine. If this is working as a turbine, it must have a pressure drop to drive the flow which drives the turbine. It may look like a pump, but it is a driver, not a pump.
