Hi all,
I’m interested in learning more about the function of the pressure building circuit for cryogenic storage tanks. Wondering if anyone can suggest a good book on cryogenic storage systems which would cover this.
Specifically I would like to understand, for a vessel storing cryogenic product at its saturation pressure, and where product is transferred out with a transfer pump, if a pressure build circuit is required and why. As per my understanding, in a scenario without a pressure build circuit, as product is transferred out of the tank, the pressure in the vapour space would drop, causing flashing of liquid which would re-pressurise the vapour space to the saturation pressure.
Any guidance on the criteria for requiring a pressure build circuit and its functions would be appreciated. Many thanks.
