Hello! Can I use the miles equation to predict the loads to a small part of an instrument (large natural frequency, 1000 Hz) Are loads of 200g-300g normal? What about the Q-factor, what is a good estimate?
Regarding a WWII 5" HVAR unguided rocket
fired from aircraft the
official G loading was
1,570g's, it weighed 111.3 lbs,
What sort of vehicle
are we talking about ?
I posted a similar question (about the amplification factor) in another area of this forum.
I found on some articles that the factor Q should be assumed equal to 10 (that means a critical damping ratio equal to 5%) but i couldn't find any good explanation of why this number could well estimate the real amplification factor.
What's the wight of your structure?
How is the PSD Input?
Did you use just one natural frequency in the estimation?
If you use just one the result could be too conservative.
