Hello

I am designing a structure for a 2-storey shopping center.
The dimensions are:

- Hollowcore slab span 8,0m (26ft).
- Inverted Tee beam span 12,0m (39ft).
- Live load 5,0 kN/m2 (100 psf).

I dont have much experience with a precast concrete, so I went out and looked around existing shopping centers, to see what system they used.

In some cases, I have noticed a system of short span Hollowcores (around 3m/10ft) supported by secondary rectangle beams, carried by a primary inverted tee beam (I am standing under the tee beam).

This system made me worried that I am missing something, because it seems overdesigned and the live load use above it should not call for such a heavy-duty system (IKEA).

What do you guys think, are my spans OK?

PS: For global stability, I have added few shear walls in the first storey, so lateraly it should be sound.
