The 70-story building, the existing copper pipe for domestic cold-water distribution is deteriorated and water leak issues are rampant. The pipe thickness is 1.2 mm. I recognize the selection of the pipe was wrong and the then project engineer didn’t checked properly when select the copper pipe. We here select 2.5 mm for high rise buildings. I didn’t find any PRV not placed between the main vertical pipes to withstand the gravity pressure. and the piping is laid out in two risers.we planned to retrofit with new pipe. I want to go with PPR. what is your comments on PPR VS COPPER for high rise building? which is best and recommended with high gravity pressure water circuit?
