Does anyone have experience in the application of Aluminum Brass alloy B148-955 in centrifugal pumps for refinery sour water service. Severe housing and impeller corrosion has been experienced. Would like to know what material will be best for this service.
Thanks

316/316L will be a starting option in alkaline sour water. If the water is acidic with chlorides (probably not otherwise you would not have lost the nickel aluminium BRONZE), ISO 13709, Material Class D-1, duplex stainless steel should do.
