I have a 28kHz utrasonic transducer which I wish to operate. I need to build a driver to squeeze max power out of this transducer (specs say approximately 70W) After some discussion a few ideas were thrown around, including using a resonant RLC amp, etc. i would like some advice on how i should proceed on this further. thanks a lot :)

Make a power-oscillator with the transducer as tuned circuit using two -- push-pull-- MOSFETs.

Probably a bit of overkill, but take a look at:
(just remove FET's until you reach the desired power level).
There are 10,25,40, and 100W versions also.
Add an oscillator and high-pass filter, and you are done.
(I have prints on those also, if you need them).
