can powder coating be "textured" the same way as other
traditional paint processes??

Powder coating systems that I have been associated with can only apply a layer 1-2 mills thick. Any texturing had to be down to the base material prior to powder coating.

We currently use a texture finish powder, the base material is smooth sheet steel. These are typically hybrids. Current supplier is Sherwin Williams, but you should be able to by a texture finish powder from most powder suppliers.
