Every so often I'll open a drawing or model and get a big black bar along the left and top of my viewport pane of Solidworks. I'm using a HP xw8000, Xeon proc, 1.5GB Ram, Nvidia Quadro4 380XGL card. The only thing is that the video driver I have is from HP NOT Nvidia or the one listed on SW certified driver list. I would only assume that HP used the correct driver since I bought this PC designed specifically for SolidWorks from HP.

Any help?

I was also running Windows Media Player at the time. And our IT guy found out that there is a conflict with WMP and SW. So i'm trying not to run WMP.

Strange... I run WMP all the time with SW and have not had any conflicts.

How did he determine that it was a conflict?

I'm with Scott......I run WMP with no problems to SWx. You might be a victim of the Sony cloaking software if you're loaded songs from a Sony CD.....just a thought.
