Hi,

I need information how to set and represent the control logic for positioning of Pressure Control Valve in pump discharge line on P&ID. The pump is pumping a seawater to be processed for well injection.

The pump discharge line is an 8" line discharging into a commom header of 20" line in parallel with 4 other pumps.

Thanks for anticipated cooperation.

The representation is identical to a FCV in the discharge line, instead of using a flow transmitter you have to use a pressure transmiter

You'll need to show where the process pressure comes off, either upstream, downstream or both that goes into the symbol for the PIC or PC. Then show the output from the PC to the Valve. If you need to, you can also do FC and deplict a Hi/Low select externally or in a PLC.

besides showing the control loop you have to be careful in designing the parallel lines so no pump will be affected by the others, are all the pumps identical?

regards,
roker
