Polyeruthane Joint Sealant for Concrete Pavement 2

Anybody use polyurethane joint sealant for heavy trafficked joint sealant? With success? Without success? What manufacturers and product names? e.g., Bostik Findley Seal 'N' Flex.

Urethane is a reasonably good joint sealant, but be careful with high traffic areas. Must be installed properly and preferably a two-part system. Use the recommended primer and make sure the joint profile is correct.

Sonneborn NP-2 is an excellent sealant.

In 1984, I tested every available type of pavement joint sealant available in the local market. I wanted to seal joints in concrete streets that were over 30 years old. Polyurethane took too much joint preparation and the material cost was too high to be cost effective against the rubberized asphalt sealers that one could just heat and pour after blowing out the crack with compressed air.

Even the heat and pour products proved to be widely different in how easy (or difficult) they were to use. One brand was almost impossible to get out of the container! This feature was only discovered because we tried using each type. Unfortunately, my political appointment ended before I got to do a follow up evaluation.
