Hi guys,
Can anybody point me to a generic synthesis of a polyacrylamide emulsion? Ultimately, I want to see if it is possible to get to an emulsion via a dry polyacrylamide powder. thanks.

Technically it's possible but not likely economical. Tell us why you want to do it, on what scale, and why we should be interested, because this sounds like a student question, which isn't allowed here.

Hi Compositepro,
Unfortunately, my student days are far behind me. I am a water treamtent account manager who has aspirations of starting my own business with a focus on dewatering polymers for industrial and municipal wastewater applications. I am trying to determine how feasible it would be to produce PAM emulsions versus buying and reselling them. I have the access to a blending facility so the more I can do on my own versus having it done by someone else, the more competitive I can be.

I would like to know if there is a practical way to produce emulsions from dry polyacrylamides. If not, then what is the method for producing PAM emulsions? Any help would be much appreciated.

thanks,
John
