pole structure for Telecommunication-is there a minimum shaft thickness criteria to ASCE,AISC etc..
 
Not that I am aware of. Many internal specifications that I see specify 3/16" as a minimum thickness, however I don't think it is specified in any codes or standards.

the internal specifications mentioned, of which category? street lightpoles? etc..
 
The specs I regularly see are for high mast towers and transmission poles.
 
Poles are typically designed using a Diameter to thickness ratio that precludes buckling. For the top sections of high mast light towers and for luminaire poles, we use 3 gauge (0.2391") minimum. The loads on transmission poles would likely require thicker walls.

I don't recall ASCE 48 having a minimum thickness for poles and you might check EIA 222 to see if their poles say something, but we normally do not see any thickness less than 3/16 and it could be the galvanizing process could cause warping.

I don't know of a thickness limit in the EIA/TIA 222 code and like others, we don't see any thicknesses less than 3/16" available for the A572 grade we spec.
