Does anyone know if you can setup a view NX where you can see the Point of View when knowing the field of view angle (or angles) and the origin focal point of a camera?

Set up the WCS using that data and orient the view to it.

Try using the 'Command Finder' and search for 'edit camera'. I think this might provide you with what you're looking for.

Additional question on this...
For the FOV horizontal and vertical values what sets the ratio between the two?
When you sent either the horizontal or the vertical the other updates to some other corresponding value.
At first I thought it was based on my graphics window size and shape but that doesn't appear to affect it.

I suspect that it's based on the now somewhat archaic 4:3 ratio from the first modern TV screens and computer monitors. In reality we probably should be moving toward using the now standard 16:9 ratio used by HD TV's and most flat-screen computer monitors. But, as you may have seen in the dialog, there are options to set the field-of-view (or magnification depending on how you think about it) based on selecting a typical camera lens which are based on the 35mm film camera standard. In that case it might actually be closer to 3:2 as that's the 35mm film image ratio (full-frame 35mm film images are 24 x 36 mm), which BTW (in case you're ever playing Trivial Pursuit) is why the standard size of the so-called 'drug store snapshot' ended up being 4 x 6 inches.

So for now that ratio is probably hard coded into the camera function?
There probably isn't a way to change that ratio or to input a specific horizontal AND vertical value at the same time?

At the moment I'm creating a view with a specific horizontal or vertical value and cropping it after saving a screen shot.
It's for some very interesting custom camera sensors being designed.

Now where did I leave that trivial pursuit box... :)
Thanks!
