Has anyone any experience of getting point cloud data into SE and creating surfaces ?

It does not like. I think V20 may open up STL data but I don't know what it will do with it.

At one point UGS was giving out a macro that would bring in every point one at a time. It was slow and a bad idea for files with lots of points.

If you really want to do a good job of reverse engineering the truth is you will need a package that is designed for it like Imageware or raindrop or paraform.

We did a fair bit of this type of work in uni using Pro-E
