PMAC 'motor control', Is it any Good?
I've been using it for a while and was woundering how it compares....

Suggestion: Visit
for several papers dealing with PMAC Motor Control, e.g.
J54. Sun, D. and Mills, J.K., "Torque and Current Control of a High Speed Motion Control System With Sinusoidal PMAC Motors, Special Issue of IEEE/ASME Trans. on Mechatronics, Accepted October, 2001.

The PMAC is a Delta-Tau product and many people use them here in the Midwest. Very powerful controller and very competetive but lack the drives, motors and mechanics. visit
Others to look at:
1. Aerotech - me :-) 2. Acroloop 3. Baldor - 4. MEI - Motion Engineering 5. DSP Control group 6. ACS Tech80 ....others

Delta Tau is now in the design of amps.

All we use is Delta Tau PMAC Lite and PMAC Pc's on the EDM's we build. Most of the cnc's in our shop use the same.

There are new products emerging every day.
