Hi folks,

Does anyone know if it is possible to limit a results plot (in my case a vector plot) to a specific surface?

I've got a set of results for a rather complex casting and I'm trying to create a visual showing my principal strains along with their direction.

I'd like to limit the plot to a split surface that represents where I will be placing strain gauges on the casting.

Unfortunately I can only make a vector plot over the whole model, which (1) slows down my computer considerably when modifying the scale and density of the vector plot, and (2) shows me a lot of extraneous vector arrows that muddy up my visual.

I don't know if you can make this work, but try to put shell elements on the surface of interest and give them a low modulus so they don't impact the resutls. Then hide everything but the surface when post processing.

This is just something in the back of my head from the past. No guarantees.
