Well, there seems to be an array of small boxes, one per cylinder, each with two electrical connections and one fluid connection to a manifold, and they are all located in an area where I'd expect the crossheads to be, so I'd guess you're looking at flow/pressure/temperature monitors for crosshead lube oil.
OR, something else entirely.
