I ordered a product for an automotive application which required a mid wire splice. They included these open barrel splices which I now love but I cannot find anyone who sells them, or even their common name.

Anyone have a clue?

You guys are good. I looked and couldn't find anything.

Now if I could only buy 100 of them instead of 56,000. Lol.

By the way, Mcgyvr what is Amp I am not familiar with them.

AMP Incorporated.

They developed a way to terminate wires and make connections without soldering,(crimp terminals), which was the original standard way.

Their AMP-O-Mater machine was probably the first crimping machine. They still provide very high quality connectors to users.

They have since been swallowed up like everyone else by Tyco Electronics.

If its just low volume why not just use the standard "butt splice" connectors available at any hardware/autoparts store.

I stumbled across butt splices with one end larger than the other to allow the original wire to be cut and an additional wire inserted into one end.
