You should really stop everything else and listen to McCoy tyner, Jack de Johnette, Ron Carter and Derek Truck play the standrd 'greensleaves".

Mccoy's voicings are perfect, though his solo is too subdued for my tastes.

The sound of Derek's guitar is a very good choice, well controlled and modulated.

Everyone is utterly awesome.

If that name is vaguely familiar to those over about 50, his uncle Butch Trucks was a drummer for the Allman Brothers Band, whom, by coincidence, I was listening to yesterday on a big black vinyl disk with one spiral groove on each side. [rockband]

Didn't know that. it adds up thougn that he was born in a family of musicians.
He was sort of an enfant prodige, publicly performing since the age of 12 and earlier.

Derek is a phenomenal guitarist. If you look at his face when he plays, he's like Eric Clapton in his early days...he just gets lost in it. He grew up on southern rock and blues. Still lives in the "motherland" of it all (southeastern US)...currently just south of Jacksonville, FL. Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, etc. great influences.
