I am trying to connect my xp laptop using the 6200 software to an old PLC3. The PLC has a GA and a S5 module. I am not sure what to set the device to in the 6200 software when connecting through the front port on the PLC. Had a problem with the battery on the memory mod and now I have a dis lite flashing on the S5 card. Help with how to fix or get connected to PLC would be great.

what operating system is your pc running on? the 6200 will only run under pure DOS. the ai3 software will work as an alternative

The laptop has XP pro. I tried to get a copy of the AI3 software but have not been successful. Do you know where to obtain it?

I tried both local and with Rockwell. This is an unsupported software and they told me the only way to get it would be from someone that already has it. I have connected with the 6200 software before but I can not remember the proper device settings to configure. Do you know how to connect and what the proper com parameters would be?

What cable is being used? Also the settings you will use depend on what was downloaded to the plc. Make sure no other software is utilizing your com port.

The cable that I am using is a 9 to 25 pin. With
9pin 25 pin
grnd to 1
3 to 2
2 to 3
7 to 4
8 to 5
6 to 6
5 to 7
1 to 8
4 to 20

The com port is not being used by anything else. What do you mean by what was downloaded to the plc? I am trying to establish comm in order to download the program to the plc. I have a copy of the file that was saved using the 6200 when we did a backup of the program. The file has the extension .af3.
