Hello,

Can anyone help me out to calculate in pressure vessel, at each point on external surface, what will be the max. forces and moments it can withstand.

Also can i equate above values over the external loads if any, without perfoming WRC-107 calculation.

Regards,
saku

For a global force/moment you can do this simple calculation,

Axial force / Cross-section area + bending moment / section modulus.

You also have consider the effect of these loads on the support.

If it is a concentrated load then use some thing like WRC-107 to evaluate it.

You must also consider the stress from internal/external pressure, thermal stress and the stress caused by the imposed load of the structure. It is hard to simplify it too much. I would say as a minimum, perform a WRC 107 analysis, but even better check it using FEA.
