Plate washer welds 2

I am using plate washers for braced frames. Due to erection tolerances , they cannot get a all round weld for the plate washer. As the sole purpose of plate washer is not transfer shear, is it possible to just weld the plate washers in the direction it needs to transfer shear and ignore the welds perpendicular to the shear ?

I would think that would be fine.

I agree with KootK. As long as there is enough weld provided to transfer the shear force it should be fine.
