Hi everyone, working on a finite element plate model on Strand7 of a RC flat slab on square piles. The slab is on grade but designed to be supported on piles as subgrade would have settlement. For flexural results I am comfortable with the flexural results taken at multiple sections and combining the twisting moments Mxy.

However, for plate shear force in Strand7, this is where I am unsure of the results - they come in multiple axis Vzx, Vyz, and Vxy; I would take the strip shear force and first check as a beam. Subsequently i was concerned of punching shear but this is where i also got stuck. I tried searching around the forums but doesn't seem see anyone with similar questions.

Anyone could give me some recommendations on how they work with Strand7 results for shear? Thanks.

If you are an ACI member they have a recent paper on modelling punching shear at:

But for design purposes I'd suggest looking at the support reaction forces and moments, rather than trying to extract the information you need from the plate results.
