Does anyone know where is can get free access to plate heat exchanger selection software? I have some existing exchangers, and would like to make changes on the primary side without adversely affecting the secondary. See attached spec sheet.
This heat exchanger takes primary chilled water and exchanges it to a 30% PG solution. The problem is that the chiller plant was sized for a 20 deg F delta, and the heat exchangers were only selected at a 13 deg F delta on the primary side. I would like to reduce primary flow to give me a higher delta without significantly affecting the leaving glycol temp. How can I determine (before actually doing it) how much (if any) the primary flow can be reduced?
I was hoping to model it first before making any changes in the field. Does anyone have any suggestions?
