What is the melting point for Polypro in its various forms and what source would you recommend for diagnostics to determine plastics makeup?

Most polymers do not have specific melting points. They don't even have meting ranges, they just keep getting softer.

There are many characteristics that can be quantified on plastics. In the end most of the properties are related to teh molecular weight of the resin, extent of crosslinking, and fillers.

The melting point for neat polypropylene can vary from about 130 [°]C to 165 [°]C, and it can reach almost 200 [°]C when filled (mica, etc.)

For identification of polymer materials, infrared spectroscopy is the standard technique. Thermal analysis, including melting points, can be determined using Differential Scanning Calorimetry.
