Hi,

I need an alternative to plyboard (thickness of 8 mm) that has the same strength characteristics, which can withstand prolonged mild heat, has the ability to be machined to tolerances of +/- 1 mm, possibly coloured, possibly a recycled material and able to continually support a weight of approximately 18 kg between to sheets of dimensions; height 260 mm by width 270, thickness unimportant.

Thanks for your time

How hot is mild.

Can it tolerate any permanent deflection and increasing deflection over time.

I would think most plastics could do it if made thick enough or ribbed deep enough.

A lot depends on how it is supported.

A lot depends on numbers.

Maybe glass filled nylon or glass filled polyester or if numbers small, FRP.

Regards

How many do you need? Are you going to buy sheet stock? Plywood is cheaper for a given strength than plastic. What is your goal? price? durability? color? What is wrong with the performance of plywood?
