PLastic Soil Bulk Density measurement in lab

Hi

I do not know how reliable it is to get the bulk density of clayey plastic soil from bulk samples in the lab.
Any special recommendations about that.

What would be the use of this density? Maybe you really want an in-situ density? or a maximum dry density (proctor test)?
