I am trying to get up to speed ASAP on the state of the art for bulk weld cladding of large steel components for corrosion and/or wear resistance by PTAW + powder alloy. I am not talking about valve seats and the like, I am interested in cladding by the acre on plate and large-diameter pipe. Info on welding equipment makers, consumable vendors and welding parameters are welcomed, including published papers/texts.

Thanks in advance!

Are you restricted to process you mentioned?
Could you use an oscillating submerged arc system or possibly strip cladding? Those processes with cover the acreage you list.

I am considering every possibility, but I already have extensive experience with conventional processes, including twin wire SAW SS cladding. PTAW w/powder is reputed to be the best process for the application I have in mind.
