Guys,

We have new centrifugal pump commissioning next week , we are going to do water run test for 4 hours. It has double seal with Plan 53B (Seal barrier fluid Therminol 66).Therminol 66 is not available with construction contractor so the contractor recommended to use demin water as barrier fluid during water run test. I have a concern that may be seal will not leak during 04 hours water run test but the seal faces may be stressed due to lack of proper lubrication (due to seal fluid viscosity difference) ,the seal may leak later on when the equipment will be handover to us. We referred this to seal vendor still waiting for response.
In meanwhile any ideas? Is any body had faced similar problem?

Don't use demin water as barrier fluid and don't run pump even with water for test run. I have very bad experience on water as quenching fluid for plan 62+02. follow vendor instruction or use therminol 66 as recommended.
