Hi all,

I have a simple vehicle multibody model and I need to identificate some parameters from measurments on a real vehicle. I need to know the pitch center. How could I measure the pich center position? I'm thinking to use a 6dof inertial platform but I don't know how to accomplish it.

Thanks!

First define what you mean by pitch centre. If you mean, for example, the approximate point about which the vehicle pivots when going over small bumps at a given speed, then just use your platform to identify the point with zero z translation during the event.

Hi Greg,

thanks for your prompt reply. The pitch center I mean is the one you described. Unfortunately I don't have any platform, I can just drive the vehicle on the road. Is anything I could for estimating it on road driving?

Cheers

Pietro
