Pisto/bore clearance at operating conditions. 1

Say you have an engine with a aluminum piston in an iron bore, and about 5/100ths of clearance 0.05mm static.

What is the average clearance when the engine is running ? I heard somewhere that the piston is almost a press fit and the oil film keeps it fron seizing ?

Looking for actual values.

The piston is never "press fit" (aka "interference fit"), but the precise clearance varies with many factors. See the article at
