Piping Estimation 1

Dear All,
Can anybody help me for estimation of erection cost based on Inch Dia... ? i have got a bid which describe @ 6500 inch dia of s.s.321- all 16"x Sch 10s piping for prefabrication/ erection (@ 8.5 meter height) / 10%RT/ Hydrotesting and painting (for appearance).. please guide me how to estimate for each category?....The Bid has not given any running meter of piping or weight ? how should i start???

Someone with difficulty converting from Euros to USD is unlikely to have much success estimating a poorly defined job. In-dia is an interesting unit. I've seen jobs spec'd in dia-in of weld (a 16-inch weld is about 50 inches long so if that is what the 6500 is then I would expect 13 welds) or dia-in-mile of pipe. Fabrications are more concerned with the number of welds than the length of pipe. The 16" sched 10 specification gives you the pipe weight and you have to count flanges, fittings, and valves to get the total weight. With the information you have provided it really is not possible to do much in the way of estimating the job.
