Hello,

I'm looking at getting a book to help with estimating time for ditching, welding, etc. involved with natural gas pipeline work.

Do you guys have any favorite books?

I was looking at a book by John S. Page called "Estimator's Piping Man-Hour Manual" Any experience with this book?

Most of my projects are small replacements and reroutes not long cross country jobs.

Thanks

Pat

Hi Pat,

Whatever book you end up using, be aware that there are assumptions that underly any estimating tables presented.

There are many factors that can influence welding rates that you may need to account for manually (ambient temperature, weather, lighting, confined space(s), available tools, etc.) no matter what system you use.

We also have a (software) planning tool that assists planners with estimating piping fabrication and installation. See the link for eTaskMaker in my signature below.
