I have more than 20 yrs of experience in oil and gas projects iam with civil avnd also industrial engg back ground .now for some time now iam thinking of doing pipipiping engg certificate course online from a reputed institute from india .I don't know whether this idea sounds well can anyone advise

If you have 20 years of real experience, why on earth would you need a certificate?

Now days employers looking for more on certifications

Tell them you've got QBE qualifications. If challenged , Qualified by Experience

I think you've answered your own question.

If you are looking for a new job and want to add "certified piping engineer" as a line on your resume then it's a good idea.

If you are not looking for a new job, but you current employer wants to claim that they have "certified piping engineers" doing project work then it's a good idea and your employer should pay for it.

I've been a Certified Manufacturing Engineer by SME since 1988. I never did get a job because I had the Certification.
I wouldn't waste my time and money.
