simple question:
are pipe supports for 10-inch, std wall, (water) allowed to have NPS pipe threads for adjustment purposes? the pipe and/or coupling is turned to adjust for final elevation of saddle support.
picture this support, a threaded flange at base (concrete floor), a section of pipe (4<length<8 feet) with a coupling about 1-foot below below saddle support. support pipe is 2-inch and each support has 3 threaded locations for adjustment.
as i read and understand these standards and the code (B31.1, Section 130), this configuration does not comply.
i have read another thread, thread378-182995, which the last 2 postings are interesting. mainly that there are several installations i am familiar with utilizing unistrut with a mss-sp-58/69 type support fastened to unistrut.
well, i just read par. 8 in mss-sp-58 where pipe threads are permitted.
responses are welcome, mainly clarification!
