PIPE SUPPORT

Any suggestion where to put pipe support for a different services running inside tunnel. Sorry for the ignorance, its my first time to design pipe support.

Usually pipes are supported by saddles that rest on steel cross-frames. The frames are spaced at a distanced based upon the pipe's ability to span between them.

Some pipes, most pipes, have thermal elongation issues and/or thrust forces that must be resisted. Also, the pipe supports are designed sometimes to move a bit to allow longitudinal pipe length changes.

You should talk to the pipe designer and find out what the potential is for movement.

Also, when calculating the pipe's span between supports be sure the consider that it MAY be temporarily filled with water for hydro testing. If the pipe is large and in normal service it would be transporting a "light" fluid (such as compressed air) the weight of the test water could be significant.

Depends on pipe sizes and materials, but I have used systems like this successfully in mechanical/plumbing chases and pipe racks for smaller diameters.
