Hi Everyone,

I have 4 pipes with the same ID, and I need to design a header pipe for these pipes. same header discharge to 3 branches.
Can anyone show me how to compute or design the needed header?
what information do you need to size the header?

Header at least 3 x the square area of branch pipes is a good starting point to get even flow.

Three because you have three branches,

Depends also on how much the pressure drop in the header is compared to the branches.

<5% then header size is less of an issue.

Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

Make sure to allow a lot of extra space between the inlets and outlets.
You can get a lot of 'cross talk' between these flows which will result in them being non-uniform.
Don't try to make this as compact as possible.
