I have a specification which makes reference to piping to "C313" can anybody give a more complete reference to this designation?

What's the Material?

Possibly intended to be ASME B31.3, Process Piping.

uhmm? There apparently was a C313-78 standard (now withdrawn) from ASTM, "Method of Test for Adherence of Porcelain Enamel and Ceramic Coatings to Sheet Metal". As far as pipe, only thing I can think of very close is AWWA C303 (for bar-wrapped, formerly "pretensioned", concrete pipe).

Carburize,

"C313" certainly isn't a normally recognized standard in the piping community of the U.S.

Depending on the source of your specification, it might be a reference to a separate client or licensor specification. If not, my money's on it being a typo for "B31.3"

Good luck and keep us informed.
