Hy all,

I am stuck in the below description and want to understand below basic description.

PIPE, CS API 5L-X65M-PSL2, SAW, STRT SM, BE,

pipe: pipe

cs: carbon steel

API 5L-X65M: STANDER WITH GARDE
SAW: WELDING TYPE
BE : BEVEL END

STRT SM: What is the exact meaning of this?

thanks

Straight seam?

As opposed to spiral wound?

I've had a good look through API 5L and can't find any such abbreviations.

I talk with designer, this is a straight seam.

Good - that one's sorted.

A bit odd as that's what you would normally expect...

Could have just used “SAWL” and taken a few less characters

I'm not sure I ever realised what the "L" stood for (L= Longitudinal, H = Helical or spiral)...
