Can anybody simplify how I go about using pilot nodes. I want to use a pilot node such that I "tie" it to a surface and can then apply loads at the pilot node which will then be applied to the respective surface. The ansys documetation does not really explain the procedure or perhaps I'm not looking in the right area of the help files.

Hello,

the procedure is explained in "Surface-based Constraints" of "Chapter 9. Multipoint Constraints and Assemblies". The Pilot Node is belonging to a TARGET element with the option for pilot node. The other Nodes are belonging to contact elements.
