piled raft foundation for grain bins

Am designing a 33 ft dia. piled raft foundation for a grain bin (50 ft eave). (cap. 40,000 bus)Can someone suggest the effective diameter (as it relates to pile diameter) to use to determine the slab depth. (drilled concrete piles)... How much length of the top of the pile should be designed as a column.

Maybe you are not getting answers because we don't fully understand the question ... please add a sketch and clarify.

In any case a good FEM analysis will expose most of the critical questions.
