Contiguous Piled Walls but I want it Leaky!

Hi we use contig piles walls for basements a lot, we usually face with a waterproof concrete liner.

I now have a situation where it’s just going to be a retaining wall so I don’t need to waterproof. I haven’t done this before but I was going to face the piles with a drained cavity sheet then put a RC face across the front (dowled back to the piles to retain soil in the gaps between the piles) and provide weep holes along the bottom to prevent water pressure build up. This way I don’t need to design piles for water pressure loads.

Has anyone gone down this path before and are there any unusual issues I won’t have considered in comparison to having a fully waterproof concrete liner wall?

I understand the Contiguous Piled Wall is composed of bored tangent piles. This type of retaining structures called Non-Gravity Cantilevered Wall .In general , to retain the soil , secant piles are used (in a staggered manner one pile strong t and having reinf. the other weak bentonite pile ).
In your case , i am not sure if the seepage behind the wall is ensured since there will not be a drainage fill , drain panels ( enka drain etc). If you can ensure that the seepage can be controlled with adding some outlets , your opinion could be reasonable .

My vote would be to design the cantilever wall for some water pressure.
You may provide some sketches to get better responds.
