Dear All,

Recently i came to know about the PLR types ie., Wet Type PLRs & Dry Type PLRs.

As per my understanding the arrangement of kicker line is the main difference of these two type.

If anyone provide me more details on these types (Wet & Dry Types) are really appreciated.

Thanks in Advance :-)

This is an odd forum to ask this question, but whatever.

Please explain what you mean by wet type and dry type PLR.

I've been in the pipeline industry for 30 years and I've not come across this wording before now. Maybe I've just not come across it or I call it other things - please define what you mean.

Position of kicker lines for a dedicated receiver are normally towards the front of the launcher, nearest the pipeline so that the motive force driving the pig is reduced as soon as possible.

Reverse for launchers - nearest the back so that fluid can act on all the pig to launch it.

Quite frankly, nowadays most design simply are interchangeable and have the pig traps all the same, with kicker lines in the middle. You can never know when you might need to pig in reverse flow to what is normally occurring so why limit your options for little or no benefit.

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.
