I've only just started getting into the thick of ETABS, but I find it strange there is no option to have both individual and grouped pier labels in the same model.
I like to design cores using a single grouped pier label for both stability and flexural design, whilst also, design the individual piers that make up the core for shear (to account for the torsion induced shear).
From what I understand, the standard practice is to have two separate yet concurrent models - one with the core grouped together with a single pier label and another model with each individual piers labeled. Therefore you need to be very careful you make the same changes to both models.
Is there any way around this un-intuitive process? Seems like an obvious future development item for CSI. I'd like to know others' thoughts?
