One component that swings on its hinge (0 - 90 deg) has been simulated to show its movement.

This kinematic simulation data has been sent as CGR data in catia. I think its CGR because it has been saved with that name.

I am not able to pick and select this data at all. I need to extract the surfaces of this kinematic simulation, but I am not able to do so. Is there any option in CATIA I should change ?

if you really need surfaces in CATIA then you can open the CGR (usually from a CATProduct) and using DMU Optimizer (DMO) you can save this CATProduct as a .model (CATIA V4 file).

Open this .model (in CATIA V5) and select all faces, copy and paste them in a CATPart.

This will transform all CGR triangle into surface triangle. Quality might not be the best ever.

Thanks for your reply.

I do the same i.e., saving as a .model file and opening a new CATPart and pasting the result as CATIA_RESULT.

The problem is that almost a 100,000 surfaces are created. I am not able to join these surfaces using the Join command as well. Is there anything else I can do ?

create points on your solide. Then using traces in Kinematics rebuild surfaces from points... difficulty will be link with complexity of shape.
