Photoelectric symbol...

Anyone out there have a good symbol for a photelctric sensor to use in a schematic. The one in particular is the retroreflective type. Thanks ahead of time.

I have not seen an official recognized standard (ANSI/JIC) symbol for this. I have one I created in AutoCad and can email it to you if you want.

I have seen photo-SCRs, transistors and diodes marked as SCRs, transistors and diodes with incoming zig-zag arrow.
I would suggest using the same arrow with resistor
symbol, too.

I've not seen any ANSI symbol either, but I think what I would do would be to enclose an LED and a photo-transistor, or two totem-poled photo-transistors if you have a bi-polar output in a long box with the appropriate number of leads. That should indicate that these items are in one enclosure and also the proper connections to the cicuitry inside the enclosure. The box would, by default I think, be assumed to be retroreflective photo-eye as no other commonly used device fits that 'description'.
