What software should I use for phosphorus removal rates for alternative treatment options (i.e. rainwater gardens, underground storm-rock basins, infiltration trenches)? We currently use PONDNET for typical NURP ponds, and P8 (Walker) was recommended by watersheds, but it is not user friendly in my mind.

I've done many annual loading calculations with a spreadsheet. The main issue is, how effective are the "alternative" treatment practices? SOme of this information can be found in :

You might be able to find more from the Center for Watershed Protection or their publication "The Practice of Watershed Protection".

What analyses do the programs you mentioned do for you? Are they estimating annual loads or removals for a specific hydrograph or storm event?

Delaware has recently developed the Delaware Urban Runoff Management Model (DURMM). It is a glorified Excel spreadsheet. I have some reservations about the program as a whole, but it does compute pollutant removal for Biofiltration, Bioretention, Filter Strips and Infiltration.
