Good morning, I have a unique problem in the GD&T world. I have a wedge shaped feature that is symmetric to the vertical centerline. I am trying to ensure the circled hole pattern is perpendicular to the wedge feature. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

If I'm seeing the views correctly, wouldn't any holes/pins be perpendicular to the face of the part, or some sort of ledge, not the wedge feature?

The wedge feature aligns a laser used for calibrating a system. The holes tie the plate in the drawing to a fixture. It is critical that the wedge feature is perpendicular to the two hole pattern to reduce error in the system alignment.

One solution is that you make the surface that the pins are in a primary datum feature. The pins themselves can be secondary. Then use profile of a surface on each of the wedge surfaces to control the wedge itself.

Sorry -- now I notice the red line with the perpendicular square mark. As John mentions, it would be easier to make the holes the datum (after the primary plane), and use that to drive a profile of a surface on the wedge surfaces.

thank you both for your input. We will incorporate that in our drawing.
